MileMarkers -
Fostering independence,
one mile at a time!
Empowering Texas foster youth with the skills, confidence, and tools they need to live independently and thrive in adulthood.
At MileMarker NPO Inc., we empower Texas foster youth ages 16-21 with the tools to achieve true independence. For many foster youth, transportation is one of the biggest barriers when preparing to age out of foster care. Without a driver’s license, a car, or insurance, daily life becomes overwhelming.
Who We Serve
Community PARTNERS

Foster Youth (Ages 16–21)
We support foster youth who are ready to take their next step toward independence by helping them learn to drive, access vehicles, and build the confidence to move forward.

Car Dealerships
We partner with dealerships that believe in second chances and strong starts. Through vehicle donations and community support, these partnerships make car ownership—and independence—possible for foster youth.

Driving Schools
We collaborate with driving schools across Texas to make driver education affordable and accessible for foster youth, ensuring every student has the chance to succeed behind the wheel.

Private Donors and Foundations
Your generosity puts keys in hands, confidence in hearts, and independence within reach for foster care youth across Texas.
Driving change across America
Every mile counts.
Every milestone matters.
WITH KEYS, WHEELS, AND GUIDANCE, INDEPENDENCE IS POSSIBLE.
EVERY PARTNER HELPS US OPEN DOORS FOR TEXAS FOSTER YOUTH.
TOGETHER, WE’RE TURNING STATISTICS INTO SUCCESS STORIES.
ONE MILE AT A TIME, WE’RE BUILDING FUTURES FULL OF HOPE.
Empowering young adults to build independence

● Online courses and classroom instruction
● Behind-the-wheel lessons with certified instructors

Car Ownership Assistance for Foster Youth
Completing driving school is only the beginning. We also offer car ownership assistance for foster youth, helping them secure safe, reliable vehicles.
Vehicle and Insurance Help for Foster Care Youth
Car insurance is often one of the toughest hurdles. We provide:
● Guidance to find affordable coverage
● Help understanding policies and requirements
● Financial assistance for initial payments when possible
This ensures that foster youth are fully legal and protected on the road.
Life Skills and Transportation Support for Foster Kids
Driving is just one part of independence. We also prepare youth with:
● Budgeting and financial literacy workshops
● Vehicle maintenance basics like oil changes and tire checks
● Transportation planning for work, school, and appointments
By combining life skills training with transportation support, we help foster youth transition smoothly into adulthood.
Used Car Assistance:
Eligible youth may apply for help purchasing a reliable used car or being matched with a donated vehicle.
